Analytics
Page traffic is measured with a privacy-focused analytics service that does not use cookies and does not build a profile across sites. It records aggregate counts — pages viewed, country, referring site, browser and device type. None of it identifies you, and no individual reader's activity is ever displayed on this site. Country figures shown on the About page are totals only.
Newsletter
If you subscribe, your email address is stored by the newsletter provider for the single purpose of sending new articles. It is never sold, rented, or shared, and every message carries a one-click unsubscribe link. Ask at hello@codesecho.com and your address is deleted.
Advertising
This site currently shows no advertising and sets no advertising cookies. If that changes, this section will be updated before any ad is served, and readers in the EEA and the UK will be asked for consent before any advertising cookie is set.
What is stored in your browser
One item: your choice of dark or light theme, kept in local storage so the site does not switch back on your next visit. It is never sent anywhere. Clearing site data removes it.
Hosting and logs
The site is served as static files by a commercial hosting provider, which keeps standard server logs including IP addresses for security and diagnostics. Those logs are the host's, kept under their retention policy, and are not used for tracking.

Articles link to vendor documentation, forums and advisories. Those sites have their own policies and nothing here controls what they collect.
Your rights
You can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be deleted, or ask a question about any of this at hello@codesecho.com. In practice the only thing this site can hold about you is a newsletter subscription.
